Inger Helene Lie works with private legal matters with particular emphasis on family, inheritance and probate. Inger Helen has built up a special insight and experience after more than 22 years of extensive consultancy and dispute resolution in the area of the case.

Inger Helene has extensive procedural experience and special expertise in dispute resolution for the District Court and the Court of Appeal, including court mediation. As an experienced procedural lawyer, and with a solid background from the court, she has acquired in-depth knowledge of handling disputes before the district court and the court of appeal.

Inger Helene has a particular insight into financial settlements between spouses, where valuable properties and/or businesses are included in the probate settlement. Skewed distribution of business activities e.g. a number of issues for those who must apply the rules, including complicated evidence assessments.

In marriage, the financial relationship between the spouses will often give rise to questions about the spouses’ disposal of assets, responsibility for debts, determination of ownership and which agreements can be entered into between spouses regarding the property arrangement. When it comes to agreements between spouses, advice is given on form and content, separate property, exceptions to the equitable distribution rule, property law agreements, prenuptial agreements and gifts.

When dividing the joint property (probate settlement) in the event of a divorce, advice is given on the value-based settlement; pre-lottery claims, unfair distribution claims, the discharge of debt, equal distribution and compensation claims. Furthermore, advice is given on the item-wise settlement; the right of sale, the right of attachment in kind, settlement and right of use.

Advice is regularly included in connection with the creation of separate property, legal status during cohabitation and at the end of the marriage.

Advice is also given to cohabitants about cohabitation during the cohabitation relationship and settlements at the end of the cohabitation relationship.

When it comes to children and parents, advice is given on the content of parental responsibility, including who has parental responsibility during cohabitation and after a break-up, with whom the child will live permanently after the break-up, and visitation rights.

Inger Helene also has extensive experience in advising and carrying out public and private transfers of estates, including generational transition issues.

The legal area has adjacent areas such as real estate, company law and contract law.
